Westworld Wraps Filming in the California Desert!

It looks like Westworld is another step closer to finishing work on its second season! A couple of weeks ago we reported that the series would head to the California High Desert for a December shoot, and according to 23ABC News in Bakersfield, filming in the area is now complete. While there may be a few scenes left, this was likely the final time for Westworld to film on location, which is set to premiere season two next spring.

The shoot took place Monday and Tuesday at the Trona Pinnacles, part of the California Desert National Conservation Area. The Pinnacles are unique geological formations that have been featured in hundreds of movies, commercials, and television shows – including Planet of the Apes, Jurassic Park, and Iron Man. Unfortunately we don’t have any details on what was filmed there, but it must have been a huge scene – the production put out a call for 300 to 400 extras to participate!
